Sipping Serendipity Wine Shoppe has begun preparing and serving a wine friendly food menu. We are offering Artisan Cheese plates, Fondue (both cheese and dessert fondues) and Crepes (both savory and sweet). Our menu will vary day by day depending on what is fresh and in season. All of our breads come from the Ocean Shores Bakery so you know they will be delicious!

Artisan Cheese plates will be available every day and most days we will also offer fondue or crepes. On Friday and Saturday we offer a full menu.  The wines that we choose to pour for you will pair wonderfully with your food choice.

This Friday, May 17thand Saturday, May 18th we will offer an Artisan Cheese plate for $16 (contains Spanish Manchego cheese, Danish Blue cheese, English Derby Port Wine cheese, breads and more); Traditional Swiss Fondue is $18 (made fresh from imported Gruyere and Emmental cheeses and served with fresh cubes of bread for dipping); Chocolate Espresso Fondue is $18 (and for dipping… strawberries, bananas, pound cake, cookies, and more); Canadian Bacon & Smoked Cheddar Cheese with Veggies Crepes for $9.50; and our version of an Almond Joy candy bar (dark chocolate, sweet coconut, creme fraiche, candied almonds) for $7.50. The cheese plates and fondues serve two or more. The crepes are per person.

All of our crepes and fondues are prepared from fresh ingredients in house and made to order!

Phil Cline, Winemaker from Naches Heights Vineyard will be pouring at Sipping Serendipity Wine Shoppe from 1:00-5:00pm on Saturday, May 18. You may sample all that he is pouring for a $5.00 fee. Phil will have bottles of all that you will be trying on hand so that you may purchase his wonderful wines while you are here.

This is a wonderful opportunity to try Phil’s wines without having to make the long drive to his winery. Phil grows his own grapes and whenever possible does so using organic or biodynamic practices and he follows the guidelines of the Salmon Safe program.

The kitchen will be open so if you would like to purchase a little something to eat with your wine, we will be able to provide cheese plates, fondue and crepes for you.

Welcome to Ocean Shores, Washington and more specifically… to our special place on the coast. We are so glad that you are visiting our website and hope to meet you soon in our wine shoppe. We are the owners of Sipping Serendipity Wine Shoppe and have chosen this name because we so love the concept.  Serendipity… the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely.

My husband, Alan, and I moved to Ocean Shores in 2010. He is newly retired and we decided that relocating to the Pacific Northwest would bring us much happiness in our retirement years. And then… this serendipitous opportunity presented itself and we embraced it. On April 14 we will be opening our doors to our community and all its visitors. A dream come true for me!

Our son and his wife and our daughters and their signficant others have supported and encouraged us through this process and have played a major role in helping us with everything from the design of our logo to the develpment of our website and we thank them very much! Our new Ocean Shores friends as well as family and friends from other places have encouraged us as well.

When you visit our shoppe we encourage you to explore the many bottles of wine from the Pacific Northwest and all around the world. We will be happy to answer your questions and make suggestions about our wines. Do you need a little guidance with a food and wine pairing? We will be more than pleased to help you with that.  Would you like to enjoy a glass of wine or maybe a flight of red or white wines in our shoppe? We offer those options everyday at our wine bar.  We also have an assortment of IPA’s if that is your preference. And if you are looking for a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage we can offer you something from our retro-sodas collection.  We look forward to serving you!

Looking for a gift item? We can help you choose a bottle of wine or maybe you would prefer a gift certificate. We have a selection of other items as well including napkins, wine accessories, bags, glassware and of course the edible items including chocolates, gourmet crackers, and other snacks.

We hope to see you soon and often!  Cheers!

Wine Quotes

“When one has tea and wine, one will have many friends.” — Chinese Proverb

Grape Encounters…
Gamay is probably indigenous to the region of Burgundy, where it has been cultivated since ancient times. Traders of Pinot Noir became so threatened by the popularity of this easily cultivated grape that Philip the Bold banned Gamay in 1395 to keep it from using up valuable Pinot Noir land. Fortunately, Gamay found a foothold in the vineyards of Beaujolais, the region with which it has become synonymous. This prolific grape has an easy-going fruity character. Gamay is a wine to be consumed young. This makes it particularly popular among impatient wine lovers! Of course this wine pairs beautifully with your Thanksgiving turkey but it also pairs beautifully with beef dishes, noodle casseroloes and stews. Enjoy this wine with fruit, hard cheeses, and truffles as well! Cheers! --- fr. Ghigo Press 2006
